1. Project Overview
In partnership with KHTS (Kawthoolei Hope Theological Seminary), this sponsorship program is designed to support refugee students who are passionate about pursuing theological education but face significant financial challenges. These students often come from refugee and displaced communities and have a strong commitment to serve their churches and communities yet lack the resources to access formal training.
2. Goal
To equip and empower 2-3 needy refugee students annually by providing full scholarships for theological education through the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program at KHTS.
3. Why This Matters
Refugee students from marginalized and displaced communities from Myanmar often carry a deep sense of calling to serve, lead, and bring hope to their people. However, their financial realities prevent them from accessing higher theological education. Investing in their education is a long-term strategy for spiritual formation, leadership development, and peacebuilding within vulnerable communities. By supporting one student, you are contributing to the transformation of entire communities through trained pastors, teachers, and peacebuilders who will lead with integrity and compassion.
4. Budget and Funding Needs
• Annual Sponsorship per Student: 20,000 THB (USD 620)
• Total Duration: 3 years for the M.Div. program
• Total Cost per Student for Full Program: 60,000 THB (USD 1,853)
We are seeking individual donors, churches, and mission partners to sponsor students either:
• Annually (20,000 THB/year),
• Monthly (approx. 1,700 THB/month), or for a few months. No amount is less.
• Fully (60,000 THB for the 3-year program).
Each sponsor will receive:
• A student profile and updates,
• Letters or testimonies from the student.
